Have extensive teaching experience at Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate levels. I have helped prepare students for exams in AP and IB over many years. Subjects have included AP European History, AP World History, AP US Government, IB History (HL). Test results have always been well above the national average. As a High School teacher I have had the opportunity to tutor both regular and honors students. I have also tutored students for external degree programs - University of London/London School of Economics program in Politics and International Relations. I really enjoy working with young people. As a tutor I want to share my knowledge and expertise. I want to help students develop their academic skills and achieve their full potential. My tutoring services are relevant to a wide range of student abilities, both at high school and college levels. My teaching philosophy is one based on respect for the student and an ability to discern their specific educational needs. Building a rapport with the student is essential for enhancing their learning experience. Learning should be an enjoyable experience!

My interests include reading - history, politics, philosophy, literature - travel, music, art, sports, being out in nature, good movies and good food! Travel is something I greatly enjoy. Exploring different cultures, with their own unique histories, can enrich my own role as a teacher. Helping a student to broaden their horizons is an important part of the educational experience.
