Experience
As a successful tutor with over 10 years of experience, I have personally helped students on their educational journeys achieve both short-term and long-term goals. It has been my pleasure and passion to assist students in not only improving in study skills but also in gaining confidence and enjoying the learning process. After receiving my Preliminary Teaching Credential in California in 2010, I continued to tutor one-on-one or in small groups in various educational centers, in private homes, and online. Over the years I have developed many individualized lesson plans in multiple subjects for students of all ages, making me uniquely qualified to teach in learning centers and in-home or online. For students in preschool through middle school, I have experience teaching all subjects, creating supplemental materials, and providing assistance with homework. For students in high school and beyond, I have experience teaching all areas of English, lower level Algebra, Spanish levels 1 and 2, Chemistry, and AP subjects such as English Language, Literature, and U.S. and World History. I have also worked with students to raise standardized test scores, submit college application essays, and even tutored students for college-level writing. I have found that researching and utilizing different tools and methods to teach students while accommodating personal learning styles and preferences allow me to assist students to reach the standards they are required to, achieve the test scores and grades they hope for, and engage with material for active learning. During these unprecedented times, it would be my pleasure to continue to help students to learn new skills and achieve their educational goals, whether for school work or test preparation. I understand that it is now more important than ever to ensure that students do not fall behind in their academic journeys while also continuing to experience high quality instruction and care from passionate and knowledgeable teachers. Working with students of all ages has prepared me to teach children at all levels of learning and to contribute positively to their educational and emotional well-being. I look forward to helping each child succeed in his or her academic and personal goals while maintaining open communication with parents or guardians to ensure all of the student’s needs are being met.

Hobbies
I love reading books - novels are my favorite form, but I also enjoy a great short story or play. Also, in order to keep up with current reading material, I will occasionally enjoy a youth level book or revisit old favorites. I enjoy exploring good places to eat but frequently eat at home, trying out new recipes I find online. I make an effort to keep the coffee to one cup a day, but it's an extremely tall cup! My guilty pleasure is watching comedies or romantic comedies, although I also enjoy action adventures. I love to catch up with friends and meet one-on-one for conversations about life, books, and movies. I am always open to meeting new people, new students, and creating a better world for everyone involved by being positive, caring, and responsible.
